MORNINGS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a full spectrum liquid extract?

A liquid extract is a concentrated liquid containing all of the herbaceous plants and/or mushrooms part(s) (i.e. whole leaf/mushroom, whole root, whole stem, etc.) dissolved in a solution of water and absolute ethyl alcohol. The full spectrum extraction process maintains all the active chemical constituents of the herbs/mushrooms resulting in a high quality liquid extract. The extract retains all the flavour and aroma of the herbs/mushrooms from which it is made, therefore all of MORNINGS Adaptogenic Drops vary in colour and smell.

What does the extract ratio mean?

This indicates the weight of herb and/or mushroom per volume of finished product.  A 1:4 extract means 1 gram of herb or mushroom is contained in 4 ml of finished product or 1 kilogram in 4 litres. Our dosage unit is expressed as 1 ml so in the case of a 1:4 extract there are 250 milligrams of herb per 1 ml. In the case of a 1:3 extract, there are 333 milligrams per 1 ml. In the case of a 1:2 extract, there are 500 milligrams per 1 ml.

Why is alcohol used in MORNINGS Adaptogenic Drops?

Alcohol is the only naturally occurring edible solvent that will extract many of the compounds in an herb and/or mushroom, some of which are poorly soluble in water or glycerin. Alcohol is an excellent preservative ensuring our products retain their natural vitality and effectiveness for a long shelf life. Additionally, alcohol, in sufficient concentration, is anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-mold, and ensures a clean and healthful product.

How much alcohol am I consuming and can I evaporate it with hot water?

Depending on the dosage, the actual consumption of alcohol can be in the range of 1/50th to 1/100 of an 8-ounce glass of wine. We do not suggest you try to evaporate the alcohol with hot water as the herbal and/or mushroom extracts could be damaged by adding hot water and evaporating non-water soluble compounds (essential oils etc.) compromising the extract and leaving most of the alcohol. Some herbal compounds will metabolize in the presence of heat, altering the therapeutic values.

Can I give MORNINGS Adaptogenic Drops to my child?

MORNINGS products are made and designed for adults only. If you plan on providing any of our products to children, please consult a health care practitioner before doing so.

What is the best way to take MORNINGS Adaptogenic Drops?

Dropping MORNINGS Adaptogenic Drops directly in your mouth is the most effective way to consume the herbal and/or mushroom extract because the cheeks and area under the tongue have a lot of blood vessels and therefore the extract can be absorbed directly into the bloodstream without needing to go through your digestive system.

For some, the taste of the Adaptogenic Drops may be too strong so an alternative way to consume the drops is to dilute them with a liquid of choice to make it more palatable. We suggest smoothies, tonics, matcha lattes or coffee!

When adding the drops to hot liquid, we suggest waiting until the liquid is at a drinkable temperature (well below boiling) before adding the drops, this will prevent jeopardizing any therapeutic qualities.

Are MORNINGS products organic?

Yes, all the herbs and mushrooms used in our Adaptogenic Drops are Certified Organic and non-GMO as well as the alcohol used for the extraction.

Are MORNINGS Adaptogenic Drops gluten-free?

All MORNINGS products are gluten-free and are produced in a gluten-free facility.

Are there any other allergens to be aware of with MORNINGS products?

It is possible to be allergic to certain herbs and mushrooms, we always suggest you consult a health care professional before consuming MORNINGS Adaptogenic Drops. MORNINGS products do not contain: almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios, walnuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, barley, oats, rye, triticale, wheat, kamut, spelt or any grains hybridized from these; eggs; milk; soybeans; crustaceans of any kind; shellfish of any kind; fish of any kind; mustard seeds. What is an NPN?

NPN stands for Natural Product Number. All Natural Health Products sold in Canada require a product license before being marketed. Once a product licence application has been assessed and granted market authorization by Health Canada, the product label will bear an eight-digit product number preceded by the distinct letters NPN.  The product license number on the label assures consumers that the product has been reviewed and approved by Health Canada for safety and efficacy.
